Taste of success as TV chef chooses Deeside cheese company as winner

The Torphins based Craigmyle Cheese Company has added another accolade to its already impressive string of awards, by winning the Best Small Food Stand at this year's Taste of Grampian food festival held in Inverurie last weekend (2nd June) which was judged by TV chef Paul Rankin.

The company, which is just under a year and a half old, had an outside market stall where it displayed its range of handmade, organic cheeses. The stand proved such a draw that all the cheese was sold out by mid afternoon.

Owners of the business, husband and wife team, Liz and Neil Marchant were surprised and delighted to be singled out by Paul Rankin for the award: "We were flat out since people starting arriving at 9am and hardly had a moment to lift our heads so it was a lovely surprise when Paul came up and presented us with the award" commented Liz.

The cheese was showcased at the prestigious Taste of Grampian dinner the night preceding the festival where it was enjoyed by all attendees including celebrity chefs, Paul Rankin, Nick Nairn and Alan Coxon.
