Torphins based organic, artisan cheese producer, The Craigmyle Cheese Company, has been awarded a bronze medal for its newest cheese, Morven, in the Nantwich International Cheese Show, one of the most prestigious competitions on the International circuit. Its soft cheese, Wummle, which has won a number of awards, was also commended.

The young business was also delighted to receive a visit from Environment and Rural Development Minister Ross Finnie as part of his tour of the north east.

Joint owner of the business, Liz Marchant. Commented: "We are delighted once again to have received this accolade so early in the company's life.
It is a tribute to the hard work of the small team that we employ here. We have also recently been advised that we have won a medal for our Morven cheese in the British Cheese Awards but that the level of award will not be announced until the official dinner in late September.

"The recognition that we have achieved has been phenomenal and we were very proud to show Ross Finnie our venture recently as an example of the type of rural enterprise that is supported by the Scottish Executive."

The Craigmyle Cheese Company's products are available at delicatessens and restaurants throughout Scotland including Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh.
